Boat Trips

Self-drive boat trips on the River Ouse in York offer a unique and enjoyable way to explore the city without needing a skipper or prior boating experience. These boats can be rented by the hour and accommodate up to 5 passengers, making them ideal for small groups. Each rental includes a safety briefing, life jackets, and a river map.

To rent a boat, you must be at least 18 years old, provide a valid photo ID, and a refundable security deposit. Picnics and soft drinks are permitted on board, but alcoholic beverages are not. Please note that mooring is only allowed at the designated Self Drive landing at the end of your rental period
